MLK Delray

This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most tragic and meaningful events in American history: the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Organizations around the globe including the Spady Museum honored Dr. King on April 4, 2018, and throughout the year. Hear about Dr. King from the Citizens of Delray Beach

A look at #MLKDelray so far this year

The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum begins each year with a signature event celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. At each annual breakfast, there is featured entertainment such as choirs or poetry presentations along with honored speakers who share their perspectives on Dr. King’s legacy. See the 2018 Breakfast

Pin Point Theatre’s THE MEETING was a production between the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum and Arts Garage.
What would happen if Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X had met in secret to debate the future of the civil rights movement? Written by Jeff Stetson, THE MEETING received a Louis B. Mayer Award, eight NAACP Theater Awards, and six New York AUDELCO nominations. See the Meeting

The Spady Living Heritage Festival (#SpadyFest) continued the museum’s Black History Month theme of recognizing the 50th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The cultural fun will take to the streets of Delray Beach and live performances which filled the afternoon. How have I missed this exhibit? Once again, a hidden gem in the middle of Delray Beach. Will be sharing with others and as usual promoting membership in the Spady Museum.
